Today is the Day of the Anesthesiologist. On October 16, 1846, the world of surgery was given a unique opportunity – the use of anesthesia for surgery. Millions of patients were given a chance to live and recover. This happened thanks to a young American dentist who performed the operation under ether anesthesia for the first time.
